I’m a writer and editor living in the hills of Vermont. My poetry and prose has appeared in numerous journals and magazines, including New England Review, Green Mountains Review, Art and Understanding, Boston Review, Christopher Street, Café Review, and Vermont magazine. My work has been awarded a Pushcart Prize and a Heekin Award for a novel in progress. For many years, my summer “home” has been the Bread Loaf campus of Middlebury College, where I was Administrative Director of the Bread Loaf School of English and served on the admissions board (both poetry and prose) of the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference. For several years, I also wrote the daily newsletter for the School of English, The Crumb, which I consider to be among my most creative work to date. I am a graduate of Middlebury College, the University of Iowa (Fiction Writers’ Workshop), and the University of Montana. More recently, I managed the Editorial Services Group at Macmillan/McGraw-Hill. When I’m not busy with my own writing projects, I continue to write and edit educational materials for a wide variety of clients. As I seek publishers for several book-length projects (novel, short story collection, and poetry chapbook), I am writing and researching a historical novel about the rise of the peace movement in the 19th Century.Advertisement
